What My Clients Are Saying about My Work with Them:

"Lisa is patient, flexible and wise, and has a great sense of humor.  She helped me to discover new things about myself, and also to remind me of things that I already knew, but sometimes forget!  As a result, I decided to quit the job that was making me miserable and I am now on the road to becoming a graduate student and a business owner, and I'm happier than I have been in a long time."

-- Amy Conradt, Washington DC area

"I found Lisa's combined MBA and coaching background to be a great asset.  During the year I worked with her, I found Lisa to be in possession of innate compassion, personal integrity, business savvy, and soul.  It was a pleasure working with her! "

-- Troy Rampy, President, International Learning Center, Grass Valley, California

"Lisa helped me find the strength and confidence in myself to take action when I was considering a career change.  She helped me create game plans to move through projects which would be the building blocks of my new venture.  She is results-oriented, conscientious, extremely attentive and responsive.  When she is in 'your camp' you feel you cannot fail."

-- Laura Goldbaum, Nurse Practitioner, San Francisco, California

Learn More About Me and My Work:

     1.  What career changes have you made?

I’ve worked in large companies and small, well-known companies and start-ups, across a wide array of industries and functional areas. I have had job titles as diverse as Vice-President, Senior Consultant, HR Administrator, Analyst, Office Manager, Inventory Manager, Retail Manager, and Pre-school Teacher. I have worked in marketing research, real estate, gourmet foods, consumer products, occupational & environmental safety, workers’ compensation and insurance, retailing, and have consulted in a multitude of industries.

Along the way, I learned how to repackage myself for new careers and new industries. While I was successful in every position I ever held, and was always promoted, I would inevitably get burned out, bored or fed up and end up leaving. Working in new jobs and careers was always exhilarating, but it also became old and I longed for a career where I could find fulfillment and meaning.

     2.  Why did you become a coach?

Over time, it became clear to me that the most satisfying, challenging and fun aspects of my career were when I was working directly with people to help them learn, grow, create, solve problems and move forward. I wanted to transition into a career where I could spend most of my time doing “meaningful work,” and less time dealing with politics and administrative duties. I discovered the field of professional coaching in 1995, at a time when the profession of coaching was in its infancy.

Once I completed my coaching credentials and began to coach professionally, I knew I had made the right decision, and have never looked back. I continue to be passionate about my work and dedicated to the success and well-being of each of my clients.

     3.  What excites or ignites your soul?

I love to help clients get off of “auto-pilot” and have them see new possibilities for themselves, personally and professionally. I love the “ah-hah!” moments in coaching and when clients surpass their own expectations of what they thought was possible. One of my passions is to work with individuals who are tired, burned out or have had negative work experiences and who are looking for, or at least open to, a real change in their work lives.

Some of my most satisfying experiences as a coach come from working with clients who are "corporate refugees," those who are transitioning out of traditional corporate positions and who are building new, more satisfying and fulfilling lives and careers.

     4.  What's your favorite element of the Career Clarity Program and Purpose

          Clarity Program?

The Career Clarity Program works well with my “whole life” approach to coaching and offers clients a structured, yet flexible tool to help them explore career (and life) questions in fun, meaningful and varied ways. When clients develop new insights on their own and through our coaching together, it can be powerful and exciting, far more than reviewing the results from typical formal career assessments. Clients seem to especially enjoy the Heart Magnet exercises, and the sections which help in generating career ideas, including the brainstorming process.

     5.  What results have other clients achieved while working with you?

My clients have reported many results including:

    • Greater clarity around career and life direction
    • Increased confidence and momentum in pursuing a new career or job
    • More self-awareness and greater insight into what they need to thrive in their career
    • Support and guidance in pursuing self-employment or starting a small business
    • Techniques and strategies for coping with their current job while exploring new career options
    • Goal-setting, time management and life planning skills
    • Renewed enthusiasm, energy and joy in their daily lives
    • Increased focus and ability to stay on track
    • More time and energy for relationships, hobbies, interests and family life

     6.  How do you typically work with clients interested in the Career Clarity Program

          and Purpose Clarity Program?

I work with clients locally and across the US, as well as with a small number of international clients. I work with most clients in one-on-one sessions, usually by telephone. Clients can also receive email support or “spot calls” between coaching sessions. Because each individual is unique with different needs and preferences, together we design a schedule and program that will be most effective for him/her. Day and evening appointments are available to accommodate a variety of schedules and time zones. If you are interested in small group coaching for the Career Clarity Program, please contact me. Group coaching will be available in the coming months.
