What My Clients Are Saying about My Work with Them:

"Thank you, for allowing me to be myself and for supporting me in my explorations. Even though I'm not ready to move forward at this time, I feel that I have greater strength and a real sense of direction now."

"I so enjoyed this coaching experience with you. You were nonjudgemental and an excellent listener, asking all the important questions. You were direct with your observations, but gentle with your approach."

"You were always encouraging and on my side. You were excited for me and genuinely interested in me. You wanted success for me! You provided me with some structure to explore career possibilities, and also helped me address another critical matter for me (stress)."

"Thank you for your guidance and words of wisdom. I appreciate the fact that you looked at (me as) the whole person, and were very perceptive in picking up things about me. You certainly have helped in preparing me for this year of change."

Learn More About Me:

  1. What career changes have you made? Why did you become a coach?
  2. As I've meandered through life, my career choices have usually been the result of random influences, chance encounters and, often, whichever way the wind was blowing! But I really believe that things happen for a purpose: that purpose may not even become clear for years, but it's still there. My career journeys have taken me from being an apprentice to an antiquarian bookseller, managing in business, working in retail, and counseling emotionally disturbed adolescents. But something was always missing for me.

I moved to yet another job and another coast, searching. On the spur of a moment I decided to return to university full time. There, I discovered organizational development as both a career and a calling. In the past 14 years, I have worked as an internal consultant in an insurance company, a financial institution, a chronic care hospital and municipal government.

Yet, as satisfying as this has been, I found that I also wanted to make a difference on an individual level, one person at a time. Not surprisingly, my introduction to coaching was also by chance! I met the right person at the right time, who introduced me to the right coach who helped support me in making the right choices.

Now, through my coaching practice, I feel that I have discovered a whole new world of service and contribution. All of my previous work has given me a unique perspective and understanding that I am able to bring to my clients, as they embark on their own searches. And it's such fun, too!

  3. What excites or ignites your soul?
  4. Definitely working with my clients to reach that moment of alignment--that split second, that sense of "rightness" when suddenly a direction becomes clear, when all of the apparently mismatched pieces fall into place. It can happen around small personal discoveries or major decisions--but that moment is always there and always exciting. I'm honoured to have shared that with so many of my clients.

  5. What's your favorite element of the Career Clarity Program?
  6. I really like the unique focus on using a person's intuitive processes, combined with the practical steps on how to translate that into actions and choices. I truly believe that we all have, within us, the answers to our questions. My job as a coach is to help my clients uncover their own unique answers. In the Career Clarity program, I especially enjoy the work involved in identifying passions and interests, and then helping my clients uncover how those passions can fit together in new and unusual careers.

  7. What results have other clients achieved while working
    with you?
  8. I have worked with clients who have made major changes in their personal and professional lives, moving across the world or across the country. I've also worked with clients who have made no changes, except in their own understanding: here is where I am meant to be and happiest. Those extremes and everything in between is so exciting and fulfilling to me.

  9. How do you typically work with clients interested in the Career Clarity Program?

I work with clients both face-to-face and on the telephone. I find that one hour, every two weeks, works best, but I like to work with my clients to arrange a schedule that will allow them maximum benefit. I also like at least one email touch in between sessions.
